Re: Import stiffness matrix in OpenSees
Hello, I have stiffness [K], mass [M] and damping [C] matrix in matlab (and could be exported into text files) and I need that opensees uses these Matrixes (or files) as it's input (instead of modeling the geometry and derive these matrixs from that) and performs modal analysis or time history analy...

how to change properties of a link
Hi,
How can I change the stiffness and damping of a 2node link element during analysis and repeat the analysis? because I can not overwrite the material.
Thank you.

Re: Different results at different runs of same model
Hi Jeena,
if all the conditions in your runs are the same and you got two different results, it seems that in second run, your model had some initial variable's values from the first run.
use wipe command before second run or reload opensees.
I hope it works.
regards,
Hamid.

What is the source of this error in opensees?
When I run this commands, the output is zero! set NstepGravity 10; set DGravity [expr 1/$NstepGravity]; puts $DGravity; to correct this (after an hour try and error!!!), I used 1. instead of 1, and the problem solved: set NstepGravity 10; set DGravity [expr 1./$NstepGravity]; puts $DGravity; Why!?? ...

how to model a frame with active mass dampers
Hi, I am working on the active mass dampers and I shall model a building with active mass damper in OpenSees. Please let me know your idea about any references, books, journals, examples which could help me about modeling these devices and the corresponding equations of motion. Especially please let...
