hysteretic material (damage1)
Hi, please I need help to understand the term damage1 due to ductility in hysteretic material , model by Filippou and Scott, the code in opensees is: TloadIndicator = 1; if (Cstress <= 0.0) { TrotNu = Cstrain - Cstress/(Eun*kn); double energy = CenergyD - 0.5*Cstress/(Eun*kn)*Cstress; double damfc =...

quatity of points to calibrate histeretic material
hi, I try calibrate a histeretic material in a "spring rotational" with the experimental result, I use "uniaxialMaterial Hysteretic" with a displacement control, but the response is very different if the displacement curve (INPUT) have 20000 points or 4000 points, but how? if the...

Concentrated Plasticity Model, P-M interaction
hi, I use to beam and column a Concentrated Plasticity Model(rotational spring in the end of the elastic beams and columns ),the rotational springs capture the nonlinear behavior of the frame, but is it validate consider the column with only flexural behaviour without axial- moment interaction to co...

Re: groundmotion and uniformexitation.
thanks for your answer , if I multiply x2 the displacement basal input, with fix base nodes 1 1 1, I get a very similar drift that uniform exitation :), but not the same. uniform exitation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AH8k8zqVcQ ground motion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOtBhW1woSg

groundmotion and uniformexitation.
Hi, If I apply " grounmotion " to base nodes with displacement history, should I get the same drift, if I apply uniformexitation with sequence Aceleration (displacement history derived twice) ?
thanks you.
thanks you.

Re: uniaxialMaterial Hysteretic
Thanks Frank, but do you have the hysteretic rules? the model is based in "degrading tri-linear model(fukada 1969, nomura(1976))" , "Park model(1987)" what model? thanks you.

problems Modified Ibarra-Medina-Krawinkler
hi, when I apply in the spring uniaxialMaterial ModIMKPeakOriented material I do not have problem, but I aplly Modified Ibarra-Medina with Pinched Hysteretic Response the solution fail.
Why ? If it is the same paremeters.
the material with pinching is ok?
thanks you

hi , there difference between the output "recorder Node -file Vbase.out -node 1 2 -dof 1 reaction;" :( when I apply UniformExcitation and groundMotion????, because if I derivate two times displacement history and then apply it to my model with "UniformExcitation -accel" and then ...

Shear base ground motion disp
hi, a question, I derivate 2 times a displacement history and then I implement it in my frame model how" the input acceleration serie" I obtain drift and shear base, but if I apply ground motion (displacement serie) directly I obtain the same drift, but I dont get the same shear base, why? ...

hi, I am a new user in opensees, I am doing a finite element model to cantilever beam of reinforcement concrete, but the experimental results has high pinching, if I want to obtain pinching in the response, I should incorporate a rotational spring, but I do not have response M-teta,my question is: h...

only one bar,layer straight
Hi, I'm new to OpenSees,
can I add just a steel bar with "straight layer" command in a short length?
this layer is correct?
layer straight 4 1 0.5027 -3.35 -2.45 -3.35 -2.25
thanks for answer.
