Re: dispBeamColumn and BeamWithHing
thanks a lot for answering i have rigid element as beam column joint (elasticBeamColumn element with large E) to ignoring joint effect in frame i omitted rotational spring in columns but it doesn't work again! i used beamWithHinges element as : element beamWithHinges $eleTag $iNode $jNode $secTagI $...

dispBeamColumn and BeamWithHing
hi i have 2D concrete farme model with BeamwithHing element for beams and dispBeamColumn element for columns + rotational spring for modeling Kslip in columns, when i push the frame it can not converged, is there a problem with having 2 different element type for beams and columns? i checked every t...

Re: dispBeamColumn and Element recorder
thank you very much now my second problem about displacement solved, but any comment about any point in the script will be great. here you are wipe all model basic -ndm 2 -ndf 3 #units are kg and cm #costant parameters set pi 3.1415 set b 20 set h 20 set cover 2.5 set bu [expr $b/2] set bc [expr $b/...

dispBeamColumn and Element recorder
hello I have 2 question and I will really appreciate it if you help. 1. I modeled a concrete cantilever beam with dispBeamColumn element, when I use element recorder like this: recorder Element -file out/momentf.txt -ele 1 section 1 force recorder Element -file out/momentd.txt -ele 1 section 1 defor...

Re: Number of Integration Points
thank you excuse me, by the expression "section toast" you mean it has effect? what do you mean "do stuff with script" ? at last i can change parameters and get convergence, but calibration with experimental data is an other problem:( the experimental hysteresis curve have pinchi...

Re: convergence problem
thanks a lot for answering yeah sorry, i mean "dispBeamColumn" instead of "forceBeamColumn in my previous message, and i used more than one element for just dispBeamColumn, and one element for nonlinearBeamColumn and BeamWithHing as you said, thanks so its better not to use Reinforcin...

convergence problem
hi i have a simple model of a concrete cantilever concrete beam under cyclic load, the material i used is Concrete01WithSITC and ReinforcingSteel, and the fiber section, when i use beamWithHing element and one forceBeamColumn element it converges ,as we know we should use more than one element for D...

Re: Number of Integration Points
thanks for answering, but when i use BeamWithHing element it converges, doesn't that mean loads and section and materials are ok? what do you mean by "weak section" ? i have an other problem too, when i use one dispBeamColumn element it converges but as we know in DBE we should use more th...

Number of Integration Points
hi i have a simple model of a beam with nonlinearBeamColumn element under cyclic load, when i use any number of integration point it doesn't converge but when i use just 2 integration point it converges, is it ok to use 2 integration point instead of recommended numbers like 4 and 5? dose it change ...
