Hi
Can anyone tell me why running same code with different versions of OpenSees (2.5.0 and 2.4.6) returns very different results?

Brick element with 6 DOFs in each node
Hi
Is there a brick element that can be defined in -ndm 3 -ndf 6 systems?

Re: OpenSees version 2.5 does not work well!
Is something wrong with my code or it is something else?

That's a very good idea, thank you so much

nDmaterial ManzariDafalias in version 2.5.0
Hi I faced another difference between OpenSees versions 2.4.6 and 2.5.0. I have modeled a 3D soil medium. For "nDMaterial ElasticIsotropic" both versions give exactly the same response. But for "nDmaterial ManzariDafalias" the responses are very different between version 2.4.6 an...

It is a very big model, somehow it is impossible to write whole tcl file here

OpenSees version 2.5 does not work well!
Hi I have written a code which analyses 3D structure under 2-way ground excitation. it was working very well in OpenSees 2.4.6 before, but when I run it with OpenSees 2.5 it returns wrong responses. even eigen values are different in these two versions. and I have to say that version 2.4.6 returned ...

if you mean the load pattern, yes, I have defined "pattern Plain 2 Linear" as load pattern

problem in using DisplacementControl Integrator
Hi I have modeled a 3D structure with rigid floors and I want to perform a pushover analysis. the point is that when I use the Loadcontrol Integrator the responses are logical, but when I use DisplacementControl Integrator, the responses is just zero, and it seems that no load is applied. can anyone...

Re: PlainHandler warning
yes, that's right fmk. it works correctly.
I face a new problem each step. I fixed "rigiddiaphragm command" master node's 6th dof but I couldn't record its reaction. recorder returns 0 value!!! is there a way to obtain the force imposed to this dof to be fixed?

Re: PlainHandler warning
the point is that the structure is asymmetric and master node rotation same as roof rotation is very important. you have mentioned before that "the displacements are determined using the typical relations for a rigid diaphragm .. the matrix relating dof's is something like: 1 0 -dY 0 1 dX 0 0 1...

Re: PlainHandler warning
I really hope that somebody gives me a clue. how it is possible that two nodes with same distance from "master node" in "RigidDiaphram" command can have different displacements?

Re: PlainHandler warning
Thanks alot fmk, I changed the constraint handler to Transformation and System command to SparseSYM. The opensees doesn't reply any problem, but I don't trust the results. something is very strange. could you please tell me how it is possible that two nodes with same distance from "master node&...
