Re: Best element to model viscous damper
Dear Vesna, I am trying to model 1 storey 1 bay steel braced frame with viscoelastic dampers, which will be connected between the node of the bracings and the middle node of the beam. Since, I have already read most of the topics regarding the implementation of the dampers I think the most suitable ...

Re: Simple 3D building model - Linear Transformations proble
Nikos, when you used elastic beam column elements (except from the natural period) did you have any convergence regarding the reaction forces of beams and columns between SAP2000 and OpenSees? And if not, did you have convergence when you used non linear elements with elastic sections?

Explaining more the reasons behind the selections of specific commands (for example why we use a specific type of analysis command and what happens if we choose another option), and it would be great if you could give information about typical errors appearing in OpenSees and why these errors appear.

Problems with the Advanced Examples
I am a new user of Opensees and I have experienced some problems regarding the Advanced Examples of the documentation. Specifically, the problems 2b, 2c and 3 have problems regarding the pushover analysis, the earthquake analysis and also the hysteretic behaviour of inelastic column is problematic. ...
