Re: Parameters rank hystereticMaterial
Thank you very much but I would like to see any article in which the parameters of the material used, do you know of any?

Parameters rank hystereticMaterial
Hi all, I have a question and I hope you can help me. I’m using hystereticMaterial developed by Professor Scott (Oregon State University). I have the Moment-Curvature column diagram then I assign it to hinges columns and run the model. I would like to know the hystereticMaterial parameters values ra...

Convergence problems (five-span simply supported bridge)
Hi dear all I have a question and I hope you can help me. I am working about a bridge (my thesis work, five-span simply supported bridge) and I am running nonlinear analysis (20 ground motions). I have used concentrated plasticity elements at columns, I have ran the model along longitudinal directio...

Re: problem with ElastomericBearing element
Hi maksins, I am using OpenSees Navigator, I can't orient the ElastomericBearing elements (or at least I don't know how to so), but instead of using a material with a high modulus of elasticity, I used a material with modulus of elasticity equal to zero and I assigned to it: T, My and Mz degrees of ...

problem with ElastomericBearing element
Hi dear all, I hope someone can help me about a little problem with elastomericBearing element. I want to model elastomeric bearing like “link” element at SAP2000, I have used elastomericBearing element, but when I run a gravity analysis I get large values of moments around y-axis (the moments aroun...

Re: Negative Eigenvalue
Thanks professor fmk and professor Scott, I finally ran my eigenvalues analysis successfully.I am using Navigator and I changed eigSolver type from "fullGenLapack" to "genBandArpack" and got reasonable results for the eigenvalues (not negative and not large periods [close to 1])....

Re: Negative Eigenvalue
Yes, static analysis runs, but I keep getting negative eigenvalues (now there are three negatives eigenvalues, first three, this analysis I did with rigid diaphragm)

Re: Negative Eigenvalue
Thanks professor Scott, I have used Transformation constraint handler, and got the negative eigenvelue, then I used Penalty constraint handler and still got the negative eigen value and large periods. I am going to try without rigid diaphragm. Thanks a lot.

Negative Eigenvalue
Hi dear all, I hope someone can help me, I am running an eigen analysis (bridge structure) but i get a negative eigen value (the first one) I do not know why (I am running an analysis with elastic elements and I am ussing rigid diaphragms each span) I have built the model repeatedly, but I get the s...

Hysteretic Material
Hi dear all
I have some questions about Hysteretic Material, Can I use it to model hysteretic loop of reinforced concrete elements? or Is it exclusive to steel? Is there a reference paper?
Thanks

Re: I really need help with Pinching4
Ok. In order to understand the behavior of the pinching4 material I built a plain frame model whose columns are beamWithHinges elements and the beam is an elasticBeamColumn. First I run a gravity analysis and eigen analysis and I think my model is correct. After I run a dynamic analysis (section agg...

I really need help with Pinching4
Hi all, Nowadays I am working at my thesis (damage index of bridge piers jacketing with reinforced concrete). I want to use Pinching4 material to model reinforced concrete elements' hysteresis loop, but I have a problem I do not know the material parameters. I know that there are a lot of papers whi...

Re: About Pinching4 material!
Thank you so much professor Scott, then I can use moment-rotation or moment-curvature to characterize pinching4 material, its right?

Re: About Pinching4 material!
Dear Vesna,
I have a question about backbone curve. I am working at a model, but I do not know how get a backbone curve, it can be moment-curvature or moment-rotation column diagram? How can I calibrate the model?
Best regards.
