Re: ShellDKGT
I´m using the current x64 version of OpenSees and tcl/tk binaries. Using this very little example: model basic -ndm 3 -ndf 6 node 1 0 0 0 node 2 0 1 0 node 3 1 0 0 section ElasticMembranePlateSection 1 2.03E+10 1.70E-01 0.1909 2500.0 element ShellDKGQ 1 1 2 3 4 1 I get the error "ERROR -- eleme...

Re: ShellDKGT
Im looking at the source code, and I think that the element ShellDKGT, has a "bad call". This I think is because on ShellDKGT.h, the source code calls "$Source: /usr/local/cvs/OpenSees/SRC/element/shellDKGQ/shellDKGQ.h,v $", there you can see that this element is calling ShellDKG...

ShellDKGT
Hi, Im trying to model a kind of roof supported on columns. I need to use either triangular, and cuadrilateral elements, so decided to use ShellDKGQ and ShellDKGT elements, but I'm getting the error "element of type ShellDKGT not known" An example of how they are defined in my model: eleme...

yield strain
Dear all: Im usig a fiber model with steel02 material. The response of the elements (forceBeamColumn) is recorded with basicDeformation recorder. What I want to know is how can I compute the yield strain (or an approximation to it) with the mentioned material model. Im asking this because computing ...

Dear all:
I want to know what's the diference between the element rotation obtained with the basicDeformation recorder and the rotation obtained with the plasticDeformation recorder?
Thanks

Display Question
Dear all
Does it add time to the "analysis time" to display the window that shows the animation of the structure?, is it a significant time?
Thanks

Re: basicDeformation
thanks, can I ask you another recorder question: When I use the ForceandDeformation recorder the output is [<eps> <kappa> <P> <Mz>] for a given element, but i dont know what is the difference (because they are different) whith the <eps> and <theta> from the output of the basicDeformation recorder. I...

basicDeformation
Dear all:
I have some doubts about the basicDeformation recorder. I know that the output of this recorder is <eps> <theta1> <theta2>. I want to know if theta1 and theta2 have units or are unitless (basic unit of distance in the model is mm)
thanks

Re: IDA problem
Yes, I'm sure I'm reaching the yield point int the roof displacement I'm not sure if I can answer the seccond question. Now I'm trying changing the geom. transformation from PDelta in beams and columns (Corotational in braces) to all Corotational for a scale grater than Sa=1.5 g. In don't know if I ...

IDA problem
Dear all I'm performing an IDA analysis but got a problem: Even scaling the ground motion to high values, the plot of Drift vs Sa(T1) remains practically linear, so I doen't get an 'infinite drift' to define the collapse. The pushover curve is fine, it have a yielding point and after it, it have a s...
