Hi all!
I want to ask someone about my "problem". I defined an element recorder and I experienced, that Opensees doesnt records the zeroLength element internal forces. Why? I use it to define the elastic support and I want to use the results for modal Pushover analysis.

Re: element and envelope element recorder
Oh, and in the envelope recorder I have 13 columns? How???
Note: This is recording a ForceBeamColumn3d element.

element and envelope element recorder
Dear all! I have a question about the Element and EnvelopeEnvelope recorder. I've tried to get a column internal forces, but I cannot figure out the output file format. I tried to record 13 elements (14 nodes) internal forces, but in the output file, I get 78 column datas, but I wait 13(elements)*2(...

Re: Modal Pushover
Hi! I'm working on this method too and I have found a lot of problems solution. Use [nodeEigenvector $node $mode $dir] and write it into a file. Calculate the modal participation ratios and you can sort the mode shapes by the ratios. Here's my script to calculate the modal participation ratios: &quo...

Do you looking for this? I wrote a code which is model independant: proc calculate_modalmass { modeNum dir } { ################################################# #Calcuates modal masses in $modeNum at $dir with: # #(fi_transpose * M * fi)^2 #fi: eigenvector #M: mass diagonal matrix ##################...

nodeMass command error
Dear all! I've updated the latest Opensees and I wanted to use my scripts to my thesis work. They based on the nodeMass command. From the previous versions, this command's output was the nodal mass + some memory garbage. The nodeMass command with the newer version of opensees now only returns only m...

Re: PLEASE HELP I AM NEW USER
Does opensees.exe and the tcl file are in the same folder?
If it is not, you has to source like this in opensees:
source d:/tclfiles/example.tcl
Hope it helps!

Re: Simple model, pushover analysis problem
Thank you for your reply. I made it right to get the correct results. I had to decrease the displacement increment if the solution is not converge. This is an interesting thing. If I want to model the P-Delta effect, I HAD to set the transformation to PDelta. In this case I can lose the geometric st...

Simple model, pushover analysis problem
Dear All! I have a lot of experiment about using opensees, because I'm using opensees for my thesis work modeling bridges with nonlinear RC columns for modal pushover analysis. I want to find my errors and I defined a very simple model to check what am I modeling wrong. The model is: - HEA200 steel ...

Re: Problem with Gravity Load
If you send your email I could give you. It is a bit difficult model, it has a lot of files, I got this from the Standford University.

Re: Problem with Gravity Load
And another note for this.
If I change the nodal load row to:
load $node $px $py 0.0 0.0
the following appears:
Node::addunbalLoad - load to add of incorrect size 4 should be 3
This is the opposite of the previous one.
