Permission denied accessing OpenSeesMP on Stampede
I have been running some analyses using Stampede for a while now successfully, with the following bash script: #!/bin/bash #SBATCH -J Name #SBATCH -A Account #SBATCH -o Name.o%j #SBATCH -n Number #SBATCH -p normal #SBATCH -t Time #SBATCH --mail-user=email #SBATCH --mail-type=begin #SBATCH --mail-typ...

OpenSees SP problem
Hi all. When I run my model using np = 1, it works fine. When I run my model using np = 2, I get all the way through my script until the part where I analyze the frame under gravity load (command analyze 20) and then I get the message job aborted: rank: node: exit code[: error message] 0: JFH-JSS: 1...

Measuring column P-small delta.
Hi, what is the best way to measure P-small delta in a column? I'm modeling a SCBF with brace buckling, and I have several columns on their weak axis with large gravity loads. At one point, my model stops converging. I believe this is due to a column buckling, specifically the 6th one, as shown in t...

Re: Model fails to converge past certain drift.
Actually I may have fixed the problem by reducing how discretized my columns and beams were from 2 elements to 1 element, and reducing brace elements from 12 to 8. Vesna/Silva/anyone, can you comment on the SCBF webinar given the other day. A slide mentions that 20 elements may be needed to correctl...

Model fails to converge past certain drift.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why a model would stop converging around a certain drift limit? I am modelling a 3 story SCBF using the 2D technique, and in two different failure modes (weld fracture, brace buckling), the model stops converging around a first story drift of 2.5%. In first case, bas...

Question regarding brace buckling
Hi, I am a student who just started using OpenSEES, and am trying to model a large multi-bay multi-story 2D steel frame and would like to model brace buckling. Currently I am thinking about introducing a half sine wave sweep in each brace in the out of plane direction with the maximum deflection equ...
