bilin material & european section
hi Dear vesna i have a question about bilin material. is that only for w-sections? if i want to model a frame with european section(IBP-IPE), how i can compute parameters of bilin material such as theta_p and ...? and if i cannot use this material, what you propose to me for modeling spring in beams...

Zero length and panel zone
Hi I want to model a steel frame . If I use Joint2D command for modeling panel zone, I have to define zero length in 4 node or not? Joint2D command is: element Joint2D $eleTag $Nd1 $Nd2 $Nd3 $Nd4 $NdC <$Mat1 $Mat2 $Mat3 $Mat4> $MatC $LrgDspTag It is correct that <$Mat1 $Mat2 $Mat3 $Mat4> define spri...

Re: OpenSEES in Matlab
Hi
you must write in M-file:
!samcivil opensees_runfile.tcl
!: It is used to link opensees and matlab
samcivil: it is name of opensees file (exe).
opensees_runfile.tcl : it is tcl_file.

Deterioration parameters in Modified Ibarra model
Hi For the Modified Ibarra Krawinkler Deterioration Model in 2D steel frame, for calculating theta_ p and theta_ pc , is Lb zero?(because of 2D frame)-> in column and beam. In L/d, L is distance from plastic hinge location to point of inflection. what is exactly the meaning of this? This is meaning ...

Re: P-M interaction and considering deterioration in column
Hi
Thank you, vesna.
How do I know?
I work on mass irregular structures in height.
P-M interaction is effective for IDA analysis and For my 2D-frame ?
Thank you, vesna.

thanks a lot,alima2065
In fiber section, axial force in section produce moment. P-M interaction in fiber section is considered.
Thank you for your help.

P-M interaction and considering deterioration in column
Hi In steel frame: for IDA analyses in collapse assessment, i must consider deterioration in my model. But for modeling my columns, If I use concentrated plasticity then I don’t consider P-M interaction and if I use distributed plasticity then I don’t deterioration. if I don’t want to use distribute...

Hi
Please tell me a good reference about this material for steel frame.
I don’t know parameter of this model.
Thanks a lot.

Re: uniaxialMaterial Bilin
for theta_p parameter , L/d is needed. L=shear span
shear span for a plain frame what means?
