Re: Feature request
Guess I don't see it because I'm using an older version. Couldn't see it in the command manual either: http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index ... t_Recorder

Re: OpenSeesMP Makefile
Okay, just fixed it by rebuilding from scratch.

OpenSeesMP Makefile
I've been trying to build OpenSeesMP (rev 5184) without MUMPS on a computer running Linux Mint. I started off with the MAKES/Makefile.def.EC2-UBUNTU file (which was written to build OpenSees), and modified it to build OpenSeesMP instead. The Makefile.def I've been using is listed below. Running &quo...

Re: Compiling OpenSeesMP
I actually didn't manage to build OpenSeesMP myself, and finally requested Frank to help us build it. I, however, recently learnt that if you have the MPI libraries installed, then just setting the version of the executable to be built to "PARALLEL_INTERPRETER" should build the OpenSeesMP ...

Re: Building OpenSeesMP on Kraken
Hi Frank Thanks for pointing that out. I had a stupid typo in the Makefile.def. Fixed it and it actually popped out the OpenSeesMP binary. However, running it directly gives me the following error: reagan@kraken-gsi2:~/builds/bin> ./OpenSeesMP Assertion failed in file /ptmp/ulib/mpt/nightly/5.3/1202...

Re: Building OpenSeesMP on Kraken
Thanks Frank. Was able to access it now. Still no luck building OpenSeesMP though. Again, it goes through the whole compilation process, but while linking in the end, it gives me the following error: LIBRARIES BUILT ... NOW LINKING OpenSees PROGRAM gmake[1]: Entering directory `/nics/d/home/reagan/b...

Re: Building OpenSeesMP on Kraken
Hi Frank Just tried one more thing: I started wondering if the reason it wanted a static TCL library was because of the _TCL85 flag, so I removed the flag and tried linking to the dynamic /usr/lib/tcl8.5.so library, but no luck. The build would stop very near the beginning with Tcl related errors. A...

Re: Building OpenSeesMP on Kraken
Hi Frank Thanks for your reply I think the reason I was having the problems with building OpenSees (point 3 above) was because I was using the Makefile.def.KRAKEN from revision 5184 (the older version I'm trying to build). I just saw that there was a newer version of the file in SVN. So when I downl...

Re: Building OpenSeesMP on Kraken
FYI, the --prefix=~/tcl didn't work as mentioned in the comments in MAKES/Makefile.def.KRAKEN. It says it needs the absolute path without ~. In case you wanted to make the change in the comments.

Building OpenSeesMP on Kraken
A few questions related to building OpenSeesMP on Kraken. I'm trying to build an older revision (#5184). 1. The instructions in MAKES/Makefile.def.KRAKEN require building Tcl from source. Any reason why we can't link to the available Tcl library in /usr/lib? 2. I tried building Tcl from source by do...

Re: record global stiffness matrix
Hi Frank
Just wanted to check if there are any updates to this thread. By any chance has functionality been added to OpenSees to view the Mass / Stiffness matrices?
My model's producing some complex eigenvalues and I'd like to see what's going on by looking at the matrices.
Thanks
Reagan
