Prestressed RC element

Hi all!

How it is possible to model a prestressed RC element using fiber elements?

Thanks!!!!

Recorder Element globalForce

Dear all, if I have a SDOF system with the following equation of motion: m*accel+c*vel+f_resisting=-m*input+fstat (being m the mass, c the viscous damping coefficient, accel and vel the acceleration and the velocity, input the base excitation, fstat the statically applied forces and f_resist the ele...

Thanks for your kind answer!

Unfortunately I really don't know how to manage the source code. Can you give me any reference about this subject?!

Thanks!!!

Hi all!

Is it possible to output the global stiffness matrix of a model at a certain time-step?!

Thanks!!!

Rayleigh damping coefficient

Dear all, I would like to have just a precisation about the stiffness proportional coefficientts of Rayleigh damping. Is the following true: 1. Kinit term: term proportional to initial stiffness 2. Kcurrent term: term proportional to tangent stiffness at a certain time step 3. KlastCommit term: term...

Thank you very very much, Silvia!

So, I will wait the new version.

In the meanwhile, I'm running analyses for a very long time (it's a time consuming stategy, but it works!).

fiber element reference

Hi Silvia! Please, can you give me a reference where I can read something about the differencees between the formulation of nonlinearBeamColumn and dispBeamColumn elements for fiber sections and distributed plasticity? Thaks a lot! P.S. I sent you the model for the problem with database saving, did ...

The program quit so suddenly that I cannot read any eventual error message. this is the script. of secion, elements and the genral script which builds the mode. Sorry for these files that are quite long, but the model is a bit complex (is a model of a RC bridge, with fiber section elements) [code]# ...

because I do not know the time I have to stop a seismic analysis to reach again stati equilibrium, hence I would like to stop, save, chek the velocities of the nodes, and then restore if necessary.

Thanks for your attention Silvia!

database opration

Dear all,

I have a problem in saving a model!
When I invoke the database command, the only ooption it accepts is 'File'.
When I try to save (i. e., writing 'save 1'), the programs suddenly quit.

Please, can you help me?!

Thanks!!!
