about element section stiffness
hi, everyone. I want to get the stiffness of a Fiber Section. the command is: recorder Element -file ele1sec1Stiff.out -time -ele 1 section 1 stiffness; ( element 1 is Nonlinear Beam Column Element) But, I got only "time" in the file of ele1sec1Stiff.out , without stiffness data. I don't k...

Actually, I have worked with envelopnode recorder and I did not encounter any problem. I can send you some files proving it or you just build a simple model and send me to see if I can find the problem. thanks pejman, the model i built is a complicated one. so i will be very grateful if you send me...

The syntax seems to be right but you need to make sure that the analysis is completed unless your file will be empty. thank you pejman, i am sure the analysis is completed, and the file can't recorde any imformation. but if i use the opensees version 1.6.1 instead of version 1.7.3 the file could re...

hi my friends,i am puzzled about the use of "EnvelopeNode Recorder", i use this command to recorder the node displacement envelope in a transient analysis, but the file is empty, the command i use is " recorder EnvelopeNode -file EnNode.out -node 2 10 -dof 3 disp ", is there any ...

section deformation
hi everyone, i have a question about the fiber section deformation of a RC column, when the column subject to a axial force and a moment, the steel in the tension side is yield, but in compression side the steel and the concrete is in elastic still. at this state reduce the moment to zero but the ax...

hi everyone, i have a question about converge when i do time-history analysis for a simple RC-column subject to earthquake, espicially when the concrete stress exceed the maxmum strength fpc, in this case i can not get the ultimate result even i do a lot effort, who can give me some advice or some e...

are you plotting reactions or element forces? the reactions include inertias -- don't ask me why, and damping. i'd plot the element forces, you should get better results. however, isn't that what a prestressed section should behave? thanks silvia, i do plot the element force-deformation curve, and ...

hi everyone, I have done the analysis of a cable-stayed bridge under ground motions, the input is earthquake accelerations by UniformExcitation Pattern, and got the m-υ hysteresis curve of the pier at the base, but the shape of the curve is not rational, it is like a 8 shape, I don’t know why? :( Wh...
