what does this typically mean?

Has anyone worked on modeling braced frames? I am trying to use the brace model from the slide presentation by Patxi Uriz. Is anyone familiar with this process?

I am a new user. I am starting by running the examples 3.1, 3.2 from the OpenSees Website. The output files are wordpad files. How can I set it so that I can open these in Excel for easy plotting?
