I am wondering how to use the new command for generating a shallow foundation.

Could you please list all the input arguments for each new command?
Otherwise how can we get the new features work correctly since the help documentation has not been updated?

Thanks!

Dear Jose, I am sorry that I still cannot get results comparable to those in Fig.4.12(b). Firstly, can you please confirm some details in the input Tcl file on Page 116-118 in PEER Report 2007/04? 1) I changed the last line on Page 116 to be set wFloor -7.8e+4 I think "hFloor" should be a ...

Many Thanks!

Dear Jose, I appreciate your quick reply! What you typed is very helpful and encourages me to use the model. I did contact Dr. Gajan to know the exact input arguments for CIM in current version of OpenSees. I will double check my codes and postprocess of the output. I will let you know if I overcome...

SSI: Contact Interface Model (CIM)

Hi, Does anyone have experience in using the CIM to model soil-structure interaction of shallow foundations? Have you obtained reasonable results? Many thanks! I tried to regenerate Figure 4.12 in PEER Report 2007/04 using their attached input file on Page 116-118 with minor necessary corrections. H...

I have the same question.

The manual says:
"globalForce - element resisting force in global coordinates (does not include inertial forces)".

Does it mean the viscous damping force is excluded from the output globalForce as well?

Thanks!

Display command does not work

To display the first mode shape, I wrote ... eigen 1 set nEigen 1 set dAmp 10 display -$nEigen 0 $dAmp; # display mode shape for mode $nEigen ... But I got the error message,"invalid command name "display", when running my script by OpenSees V1.7.5. Is "display" no longer a ...

ZeroLength contact element

Can anyone tell me the command and associated arguments to use the newly implemented ZeroLength contact element in Version 1.7.5?
What is the exact mechanical behavior of this element?
Is it proper to model the uplifiting between foundation and soil?

Thanks a lot!!!
