problem with getting stress-strain in fibers
Hello Everybody, I am trying to get a moment-curvature curve of a section whose material is polymer fiber reinforced concrete. The stress-strain relationship of this material across the section is different and complex. So, I modeled the stress-strain relationship for both tension and compression si...

element removing from analysis
Dear All, I am using the following proc script in pushover analysis to remove two elements at the same time depending on the failure criteria. But, I took the message of "analyze failed, returned: -2 error flag". Any idea on whether I correctly use the proc script of checkAndRemove and pus...

How to remove an element failed from analysis_2
Dear McKenna, Thank you so much for your reply. I know that the "remove" command can be used for this process. I also think that we have to put some conditions to provide the code with the time when the element fails. So, how can we provide required procedure in the code to remove the elem...

How to remove an element failed from analysis
Dear All,
Is there any method or procedure to remove an element failed (or fractured) from the analysis while analysis is progressing ?
Thanks,
Cuneyt,

Re: non convergence analysis of special concen. br. frame
Dear McKenna, Thank you so much for your reply. I definitely guessed that the numerical problem caused the convergence problem. Actually, I also overcame this problem (large model works properly) using hysteretic material model based on the FEMA 356 for the braces. But, I want to solve this converge...

non convergence analysis of special concen. br. frame
Dear All, We are working on nonlinear analyses ( pushover and time history) of a split-X special concentrically braced frame with its bracing members susceptible to in-plane buckling. With two story split-X frame using the principals of SCBF model developed by Dr. Vesna, analysis converges depending...

problem with analysis of 3D model with RigidDiaphragm
Dear All, While the static analysis of a 3D steel building, without rigid diaphragms, under vertical loads is successfully completed, when we added the rigid diaphragms using the master nodes in the mid-spans of the building into the model, the following error occurs. analyze failed, returned: -3 er...

Use of Steel04
Hi All,
Is it somewhat possible to use the uniaxial material Steel 04 in the current version of OpenSEES ? If no, is there any old version including this material model ? or is it possible to include this material model in the current version of OpenSEES ?
Thanks in advance.

Problem in Analysis of RC Building with Infill Steel Plates
Hi Everybody, We are trying to analyze a RC building strengthened by infill plates in both directions. Infill plates are modeled by tension-only strips whose material model is hysteretic material model which is not symmetric in compression and tension. RC elements represented by nonlinearbeamcolumn ...

T-shaped rc section definition
Hi All,
Is it possible to define a T-shaped reinforced concrete section (as a beam section) that consists of many fibers using "fiber <fiber arguments>" command ? and How ?
