minimum force in material definition
Hello, I am using a couple materials in Parallel to simulate strength degradation in a reduced beam section. For the most part, it looks good, however, I would finally like to add one more property: a minimum force where the strength would never degrade below that level. I have tried a couple differ...

Input velocity time history warning
Hi Silvia, I am inputting a velocity time history and receiving the following warning message: WARNING: GroundMotion::getDisp(double time) - integration is required to get the ground displacements from the ground velocities I am using the default trpezoidal approximation to integrate the velocity so...

hysteretic material cyclic behavior
Hello, My hysteretic material behaves fine when I subject it to a static load. Its tension and compression trilinear parameters match what I entered when defining the material, of course. However, when I subject it to a cyclic load (ie EQ) it acts unusual. Every time it crosses the force = 0 axis, i...

Hello, I am running into a problem with my model. I cannot seem to record the force and deformation in the spring! The first column in the recorder output is just the forces calculated by Opensees for the DisplacementControl. The second column (whether it be forces or def) is just zeros. Here is wha...

Hello, I realized that the Steel01 and Steel02 materials model strength degradation quite nicely (i just made negative isotropic hardening parameters) but i have a question about its application. I have a zeroLength element that is a rotational spring. I would like to apply the Steel02 material (the...
