Error in runing the OpenSeesSp.exe

I ran the effective site response analysis example with the OpenSeesSp.exe (http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index.php/Effective_Stress_Site_Response_Analysis_of_a_Layered_Soil_Column) and I get the following error. I think I have installed the “mpiexec.exe” correctly and I have change the solver t...

Re: “Pseudo-dynamic Analyses”experiments in OpenSees ?

Dear hsafti, really thank you for your kind reply and your detailed help!! But I still have a problem. Because I need to appy the displacement in different floor level. For example, if we need to apply SP to two nodes, and each node has a different time series. So hwo to modified your above example?...

the different results between 2D and 3D problem

Dear Sir, I find that the analysis results of the 3D problem is a little different from the 2D problem, also the 3D problem is much difficulty to converge compare to the 2D problem, for the same model. For example, you can perform a push-over analysis of a cantilever column with the “beamwithhinges”...

Re: “Pseudo-dynamic Analyses”experiments in OpenSees ?

Thank you very much for your kind reply. And would you please give a short example about how to define this pattern for the SP constrain. For example, if we need to apply the displacement-history in a three storey building. How can we define the load pattern for the floor displacement for the three ...

“Pseudo-dynamic Analyses”experiments in OpenSees ?

Dear Sir, I need to use the OpenSees to simulate the “Pseudo-dynamic Analyses”experiments, and I find that it is quite difficult, so I kindly ask if somebody have successfully doing this before and how? In the “Pseudo-dynamic Analyses”experiments, instead of using the shake table, the displacements ...

The recorder is too tired to work???

Dear Sir, I build 6 storey model in OpenSees with the beamwithhiges element. Totally there are 375 elements. Then I try to record the stress-strain relationship of all these elements, because I want to check in any step if there is a plastic hinge in a certain element. For each element I record the ...

No “Pinching Effect” in Bilin material?

Dear Sir, I use the example of a rotational spring that uses Bilin material in the OpenSees website: http://opensees.berkeley.edu/community/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=30954 But no matter how I change the parameter of Bilin material, I can not get any “pinching effect” as describe in the Author of this ...

Cyclic response in the Bilin Material

Dear Sir, I try to run a cyclic analysis using the model from the example of the “2-Story Moment Frame” with concentrated plasticity. http://opensees.berkeley.edu/wiki/index.php/Pushover_Analysis_of_2-Story_Moment_Frame The plastic hinge uses the Bilin Material of Modified Ibarra-Krawinkler deterior...

The way to find the plastic hinge

Dear FMK, I analysis a 2D Frame with the beamwithhinges elements and the Fiber Sections. Because I need to see the development of plastic hinges, so I put some additional Fibers into the sections, with very small area, and in the locations of the steel layers. My ideas is to record the stress-strain...

Convergence in building the OpenSees.exe

Dear FMK, I download the code of the OpenSees2.2.2, and I build up the OpenSees.exe. I use this exe file to run an example of “Pushover Analysis of 2-Story Moment Frame”, but I have some convergence problem. But if I use the OpenSees.exe download directly from the web, there is no this convergence p...

Re: Save the image in “recorder display”

I try to use the "Source Name.tcl", but the images still disappear in 0.1 second... Also an error occurs: couldn't read file "Name.tcl":No such file or directory.. I think you want to make an error to stop the disappering of the image.. But it just doesn't work... Another problem...

Dear Silvia I'm a user of BuildingTcl 1.9. :D I build a very simple 2D frame with only the “ ElasticBeamColumn” element.I found some problem when I was trying to run the analysis, whenever I clicked on the “Analysis” botton, an error message named "application error" poped up, reading: ---...
