I'm not sure what type of problem you are trying to solve, but this may also happen if you are writing a lot of information to the hard disk. Recorder
I can't see why we can't have a recorder that will return the time of occurence of the maximum. This will be extremely useful for other things too.

Advantages: Open source, Open Architecture, FREE!, Specialized element and material models (like fiber beam-column element), parallel (yet to become usable), easy to add your element and material models (even solvers etc...), C++ Object Oriented design, Reliab...

Parallel Processing on Windows

Can you please comment on the possibility of running Opensees in parallel mode on a cluster of Windows machines?
My understanding is that parallel processing is currently limited to Unix/Linux.
