geomtransf
Hello, Consider a simple one-span, one-bay, 3D frame. If one of the columns is inclined instead of being vertical, then will the vecxz -used in geomTransf command for it- differ to that of the vertical one and should be determined again based on the regulations or inclination has no effect on vecxz?...

Hello,
I want to know on which operating systems does OpenSEES work (other than windows XP, for example on linux)? What special considerations will it then need for installation?
thanks

Hello,
when we use newmark integrator with gama=0.5 and beta=0.25 for analyzing, can we be sure that we won't have instability in both linear and nonlinear analyses?
thanks

Hi,
As we know acceleration, velocity, and displacement at nodes can be recorded by recorders and the output answers are their relatie values. I want to know which point are these outputs relative to?

NonLinear Beam-Column Elements
Hello,
I have a question about Force-based and Displacement-based elements. In what circumstances should we take advantage of each type? Are they the same as force-control and displacement-control?
Yours faithfully.

zero-length elements
Hello,
I have a question about zero-length elements (ZLE). If the two end nodes of a zero-length element are not defined at a single point, does the element work properly? That is, is the length of a ZLE something virtual and unreal, or it has some sort of effect on its responses?
Yours sincerely.

Thanks before hands.

rayleigh damping
Hello,
As we know, rayleigh command is used to assign damping to all previously-defined elements and nodes, now I want to know if it is possible in OpenSees to have some nodes or elements with different rayleigh damping than the others, and how.
yours sincerely
